mixed emotions about being home

Well I have been back in Charlotte about 3 hours, and I’m having very mixed feelings.  It’s nice to be home with the family, and I’m almost looking forward to work tomorrow.  I’m sure the time shift will kill me and I know I have more than a few emails.  But will be ok.  But if I’m completely honest if I could pick up the family, and the job and move it out there I would.  I always suffer from this the first 3 month after spending time in another city, well with the exception of Vegas, I was ready to come home from there after 3days.

I am coming to the realization that I really am enjoying living in Charlotte.  When people at the conference ask me where I was from I never said Charlotte with any excitement.  It always came out more of an apology, was not quite embarrassment but it was close.  The first thing I noticed and loved about San Fransisco was the weather.  It was chilly, I wore a jacket in the middle of August.  That was fantastic.  The heat here is just crazy.  I think that’s one of the key reason people dry everywhere is to have the portable air conditioning.  SF is dirty compared to Charlotte, and god the most of the smells are bad.  Traffic is ridiculous, I wouldn’t even consider having a car out there.

I made a point to visit as many neighborhoods as I possibly could, North Beach, Financial District (my least favorite btw), Russian Hill, Twin Peaks, SOM, The Mission, and several more.  But my favorite was Haight.  I keep asking myself if I moved where would I feel the most comfortable and like the best.  And I think Haight is the spot.  A uptight button-down control freak, like me.  Oh well, I have photos I need to crop and post, and a weeks worth of dirty close not to mention all the stuff I need to do for work tomorrow.  I guess it may be a good think my body thinks its almost 10 rather than almost 1.  I want to do more about my trip, feels like a lot to share.  I just hate I’m less than excite to be home.  Seattle is the only one I have loved more than SF, and well NY has moved way down the list.
