American Virgin Final Issue

This month one of my favorite comic series ends. That makes me sad.  I first picked this series up because of the cover art, but I got hooked on the story.  Issue 23 is out and sitting on my desk.  I was not happy with the end, but I’m not sure how else the story could have ended.  (not it’s not how you think).

Quick Overview

(Taken from Wikipedia
American Virgin was an American comic book series written by Steven T. Seagle and illustrated by Becky Cloonan. The series is being published monthly by Vertigo Comics, since March 2006. It follows the life of Adam, a teenager who is a born-again Christian preacher, and his struggle with issues his sexuality and faith. There are four sagas as of August 2007: the first is “Head”, consisting of four issues, and the second is “Going Down”, which consists of five. The third saga, “Wet” also contains five issues, and the fourth story arc “Around the world” also contained five issues. The next story arc was named “Sixty-Nine” and was told in issues 20-23. The series came to a conclusion with the end of this story arc.

New Exiles

I also picked up issues 1 and 2 of the New Exiles.  It didn’t grab me.

Uncanny X-Men 295

This one I like.

Teen Titans Year One

Ok don’t make fun, but I have really enjoyed issues 1 and 2 of this series.  The story is cute and I love the art.  Aqualad looks goofie and awkward just like a kid that age.
